Powered by Guardian™ technology, Optimus SSDs can endure 10 full random drive writes per day for a period of five years using commercial MLC NAND flash technology. Additionally, Guardian technology features full data path protection safeguarding user data from corruption along all data paths in the drive. Protection against the loss of data at the page and block levels is accomplished through SMART's unique redundancy feature called F.R.A.M.E. (Flexible Redundant Array of Memory Elements). To ensure the highest reliability and data integrity, Guardian technology includes a high-reliability backup power circuitry to maintain power to the drive in the event of unplanned power failures.
